The Probably Stolen release date is planned for October 28, 2026 on Steam for Windows PC. The free Demo has been available since September 14, 2026, and is a different application from the upcoming full game. At this guide's October 6 research snapshot, the full-game listing still marked the release as upcoming; an exact unlock time and prices were 待确认 / Pending confirmation.

01

Is the release date officially announced?

The main Steam listing supplies the planned date, and UPDATE 049 announces the same launch day. This gives players both a store listing and a developer announcement for the release plan. It is reasonable to organize your wishlisting and Demo preparation around that plan while remembering that a future announcement could revise it.

There is no verified hour-by-hour unlock schedule in the checked material. A calendar date alone does not identify an exact release time in every region or establish whether Steam will use a simultaneous global unlock. If you need to plan a specific evening of play, the time and timezone remain 待确认 / Pending confirmation until the publisher provides those details.

02

Which Steam version should you open?

The full game uses Steam application number 4348910, while the free Demo uses 4349200. An application number helps distinguish a playable Demo from an upcoming store page when the game names and artwork look similar. Use the main listing for full-game status, and the official Demo listing when you want to start playing the current free version.

The earlier Playtest was a testing version referenced in the developer's announcements, rather than another name for the released Demo. Reports written during that testing period can describe different starting options, controls or balance. Before following an older tip, compare it with the Demo's displayed instructions and the changes documented in UPDATE 049.

The Demo offers three starting scenarios plus hardcore mode and identifies Water Merchant as a start with testing and purification equipment. The main store description advertises a wider range of careers and production systems. That promotional overview should not be treated as an exact inventory of everything currently selectable in the Demo or as a promise that your testing save contains the finished game's complete progression.

03

Is the full game free, and what will it cost?

The Demo is free, but the main game's Steam listing is not marked as a free game. A free Demo download therefore does not establish that the full release will have the same purchase terms. A confirmed launch price, regional prices, discount schedule and edition breakdown are 待确认 / Pending confirmation in the checked material.

If your main question is whether to spend money, use the Demo to judge the trading loop before launch. You can assess whether careful item inspection, bargaining and managing a shop's running pressure are enjoyable to you. Wishlisting or following the main game lets you keep track of its store status without making up a price or assuming that a purchase offer already exists.

04

Who makes the game, and what are you buying?

Questing Goose Studio develops Probably Stolen, and tinyBuild is its publisher. The official description presents a cyberpunk shopkeeping simulation set on a space station divided by wealth, faction interests and corruption. Your business involves merchandise whose origin and true value may be questionable, so understanding a deal matters as much as finding a customer.

The advertised trading systems include inspecting goods, authenticating valuable items, haggling and managing stock. The wider premise also covers machinery, production chains, permits and connections with factions. These are reasons to try the gameplay rather than a checklist guaranteeing that every named career is unlocked immediately in either the Demo or a fresh launch save.

Customer risk is another part of the premise because ordinary-looking visitors can bring Security trouble, faction demands or an Aug threat. Rising rent creates pressure to make decisions even when a profitable-looking transaction has complications. If that combination appeals to you, the beginner guide explains how to approach the first trading decisions without relying on invented starting balances or profit formulas.

05

Windows requirements and other platforms

The verified Steam platform listing supports Windows PC and does not list native Mac or Linux support. A PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, iOS or Android release is 待确认 / Pending confirmation in these sources. The PC release date should therefore not be reused as a console or mobile launch announcement.

The official minimum requirements specify 64-bit Windows 10, an Intel Core i3 or equivalent processor and 8 GB RAM. They also list a GTX 650 Ti equivalent or better, DirectX 10 and 1 GB available storage. Compare those requirements with the computer you intend to use instead of assuming that pixel art automatically means every older machine can run the game well.

The store describes 16:9 as the game's native aspect ratio and notes windowed play on wider 21:9 and 32:9 monitors. UPDATE 049 includes interface changes for non-16:9 fullscreen setups, including docking elements into black bars. Test your own monitor and display options in the Demo if readable windows and inventory controls matter to your launch-day plans.

06

Which languages are listed for launch?

The full-game listing includes English, German, Japanese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, French, Spanish from Spain and Polish for interface and subtitles. That is an eight-language listing for the main game. It does not mean every language is already present in the public Demo, which currently lists five.

The Demo's five listed languages are English, German, Japanese, Russian and Simplified Chinese. French, Spanish from Spain and Polish appear in the main listing but not in that Demo language list. If you want to evaluate the gameplay in one of those additional languages, its current Demo availability is not established by the announced full-game support.

Guide translations on this website are independent of the software's localization. You can read a Spanish guide while playing a Demo that does not list Spanish as an interface option. Check the game's own language menu when accessibility or reading comfort is a deciding factor for your first session.

07

How to prepare without waiting for launch

Start with the Demo guide if you need download instructions, version differences or save-transfer context. Choose a manageable learning goal, such as understanding how to inspect a purchase before accepting its price. This gives the Demo session a purpose without requiring you to solve every advertised production chain before the full game arrives.

Water Merchant is useful for learning a product line whose testing and purification tools are included from the beginning. The water purification guide separates confirmed equipment behavior from recipes or guarantees that have not been established. If you prefer dealing with a variety of goods, use item appraisal to focus on the questions that determine whether an unfamiliar purchase is worth the risk.

For customer encounters, the Aug identification guide explains what is confirmed about the AI-controlled threat and scanner-related fixes. Practice following the information the current build presents rather than memorizing an unsupported list of physical traits. That makes your preparation more useful if tutorials, equipment availability or encounter behavior change after an update.

08

Will Demo progress carry into the full release?

The checked developer announcement confirms transferring earlier Playtest saves into the Demo. It does not establish the reverse direction or promise that Demo saves will transfer into the full game. Full-release compatibility, achievements carried over from testing and any special rewards for old progress are 待确认 / Pending confirmation here.

Keep a copy of a save you care about before experimenting with imports or replacing files. The Demo's Discover option helps find manually added saves, but it does not by itself prove that every old or future version is compatible. Revisit the main listing and official announcements when launch approaches, especially if continuing one long-running shop is more important to you than starting a new game.
